You will start to see a few things appearing on the site that we hope will 1) Increase the usefulness of the site for all visitors and 2) Allow us to continue running the site for the greater good of the sport. You will no doubt have already noticed that we are selling Stand Up Paddle Magazine and soon you will see other things on the site. We don't plan to dampen your user experience by filling the site with slow to load non relevant ads. We only plan things we think will increase your user experience each time you visit. One of the major benefits to creating a few revenue streams is that we are able to launch our 5% for the sport scheme. It's a pretty simple idea. We will give 5% of our profits to the sport each year - we'd like to think we could give more if we make more profit than expected. This could be giving the whole lot to one project or splitting it up amongst many other projects. Where we direct the 5% will be up to us but we welcome anyone involved in the sport to submit requests for funding. Don't get too excited, right now there isn't much money in the coffers so don't expect us to fund a new SUP Clubhouse with board storage and showers, but do expect us to buy a new club a few extra paddles of leashes or help with reducing the entry fees for an event. Our first project is to cover the entry fees for all paddlers at the Animal Windfest Sprint Race event on September 12th. What our next project will be is up to you, the paddling community. So please let us have your ideas and requests. Right now we don't have an exact plan of when the next "grant" will be issued as it is very much down how we get on building our revenue streams over the coming months, but please do send in any requests for funding that you have. email us by clicking HERE.
