We have changed the of location of the first BaySUP club meet as we have been invited to attend the Sorted Surf Festival at Boscombe which looks to be an amazing weekend. So, the club meet will now be at Boscombe and not Sandbanks. Being a part of the festival is a great opportunity for the club and also for everyone to enjoy the festival! There is a great line up of happenings including SUP and the details are below.

So these are the plans for the club:

Saturday – Den, Matt and I will be at the festival at the BaySUP stand (aka Matt’s gazebo!!) to put the club promotion into overdrive!! We will be taking some boards down and will get out for a paddle so feel free to come along and check it all out.

Sunday – the club paddle will happen on this day as planned. Meet up at the BaySUP stand (you won’t miss us don’t worry), we will be there early but feel free to come along when you like. What we do will depend on the conditions but there will be plenty going on throughout the day. We might have a few mini races or just get as many people as we can out onto the water on SUP boards for a paddle or there might be some waves for an expression session! 


We can’t bbq on the beach but we are working on some plans for food. If people don’t have boards, the club has some which we will bring along and Sorted Surf Shop are making their hire SUP’s available to club members. There is also the possibility of some free SUP flat water coaching through the Sorted Surf School. 


A few days before the event we will have a better idea of the plans once we see the forecast so we will let you know. This is shaping up to be a great day and weekend so hope to see you there.

SORTED SURF FESTIVAL

March 20th & 21st – 2010

Sorted Surf Shop is pleased to announce the first Surf Contest at the newly completed artificial surf reef at Boscombe, Bournemouth. Sorted will be joining forces with many of the surf industries giants to bring a surf contest and festival to the beach at Boscombe.

March 20th and 21st are two days to keep in your diary! The weekend will consist of Surfing and Bodyboarding competitions and there will be activities and demonstration stands with equipment for all to try.


The contest categories will consist of a Men’s Open, Men’s 35+, Ladies Open, and juniors (under 18´s). The contest will also host the first leg of the British Bodyboarding Annual Championships.
Bodyboard heats to be contested on the Reef all other categories will be held at the Pier / Beach

Exciting prizes will be provided by the events main sponsor Rip Curl while demonstration equipment to try out will be provided by Tiki, Rusty & Firewire for surfboards, Jimmy Lewis & Tiki for Stand Up Paddle Boards, BIC will have Kayaks and Indo Board sessions will be operating throughout the day. Gul team riders Mar “Igor” Harris and Russel Winter will be in attendance to give advice and sign autographs for all who show on the day.

However it won´t end there as Monster Energy Drink will be hosting the after party being held at Boscombe´s coolest bar, Urban Beach. There you will find all of the contest organizers, sponsors and contest competitors enjoying a BBQ, drink and live music with a few surprises thrown in to the mix.
