VENUE AND COURSE NOTES: Racing will take place from Hayling Island Sailing Club, within the sheltered waters of Chichester Harbour, registered as an area of outstanding beauty. This is not a 'Round Hayling' race, on account of logistical issues and in keeping with encouraging all comers for a great day of racing and much more!

Hayling Island Sailing Club is pleased to announce the introduction 'Stand Up Paddleboarding' to this years most famous of Hayling board sport events, 'The Around Hayling Windsurfing Race' in its 30th anniversary year and first staged in 1980, founded by Peter Williams and Steve West, an event which helped pioneer the sport of Windsurfing in the UK, bringing prestige, promotion and notoriety to the sport. This year we're expecting up to 100 windsurfers and 50 stand up paddleboarders!
'This event is designed to truly show case and promote the sport of stand up paddle boarding in the UK, as a sport for everyone. Paddlers can choose just how much racing they want to do. The race courses are designed to make the most of the areas natural beauty, creeks and estuaries. Above all the event is aimed at socialising the sport, getting paddlers together of all ages, gender and ability, under the safe guidance of one of the UK's leading sailing clubs. In addition, on the following day, we will see a series of clinics and taster sessions held by local and off-island experts and we're hoping to have range of gear on show.'
