This great event is being run from a stunning new house adjacent HI Sailing Club, which the owners are opening up to us for our Saturday August 21st event. You must sign up by Thursday PM. http://www.islanderpaddler.com/hayling-regatta
It must be stressed this is an amazing venue the likes of which is truly unique!
If you raced with us in April, the race course will be very similar, racing beginning from the lagoon out around the creeks and bays and back again - sheltered, challenging and scenic!
IN BRIEF Entry numbers will be limited to 30. Thursday 19th August Last Entries Accepted (must be made online) Sorry but, I don't want to deal with late entries and cash on the day. http://www.islanderpaddler.com/hayling-regatta Saturday 21st August 9.00am Registration 9.45am Race Start (10 mile and 5 mile course run together) 12.00pm Lunch / Prize Giving 1.30pm SUP workshops 4.00pm SUP session and Outrigger Canoeing (OC1 and OC2) from main beach 6.00pm Dinner 7.00pm - 9.00pm 'Rick and the Riverias' play live 50's Rock on the Roof Terrace 9.00pm - Onwards - The Party Continues
* We aim to try and feed you lunch and dinner!
Parking: I am speaking with HISC to see if we can utilize their overflow car park. Failing that, parking will be interesting and a bit random. There will be spots for maybe 3 - 4 vehicles at the house itself. Parking can be had at Sparkes Boat Yardat the end of the road and along Itchenor Rd at the entrance to the estate. It will be necessary for most, to drop your board/kit off, then park or park and carry it back to the venue. Small price to pay
House Rules: All timber flooring upstairs - 'Hawaiian Style' - no shoes please, it's a beach house!
Sponsors: Starboard, The SUPstore Bournemouth, Blue Chip London, Scott UK, ZRE
I won't have to stress to you that being that we will be racing from a private residence, your due care and respect is essential. Jonathon and Dawn are both ocean sports mad - Jonathon has sailed the Atlantic and is one of the UK's original pioneering windsurfers and still damn good. You will find them very cool hosts and totally supportive of SUP (they even have a few of their own).
