The event is really shaping up. Colin Ralph, Marine Manager at HISC has extended an open invitation to shops and brands to come along to the event to display their wares.......

Open Letter from Colin Ralph Marine Manager HISC

Retailers - An Open Invitation to Display Your Wares and Services at the Event!

We are hosting the 2010 Round Hayling Island Race and the 3 Race Stand Up Paddle Board Event this year on 2nd April and one of the things we would like to do is attract companies/distributors etc to come down and display their 2010 wares/drum up interest/be part of the gig etc.

We have a pretty large shed that is covered and we hope that before/after race people will have a peek, we also have a huge membership many of whom will be down for the event.

Many of them are returning to windsurfing and are interested in SUP or have young ones. It would be great to have you guys down here and we could allocate you an area.

So far Starboard and Tushingham are coming(despite it being the day before their own event!), 2xs from Witterings will have gear there paddleboards etc for people to use, Boardwise are looking at bringing their “Monster Van”, Nick Baker has mentioned he would like to come, Simon Bornhoft is doing a windsurfing clinic after race and before party.

The event in itself is kind of unique in that we are trying to keep this as a “have a go” race.  There are various different levels and prizes depending on how far round you plan on going thus it’s not elitist, but more encompassing.  This year we are adding paddle boarders to the event and are confident of at least 150 competitors but may raise this to 175.  The same ethos is extended here in such that the event is all encompassing and the good and the great can compete against newbies etc.

On another note we have a few product prizes up for grabs and again Club Vass have stepped forward as title sponsor, however we still need some product prizes and also stickers/key rings or bags for paddler welcome packs.

In return we can offer you display area in the shed at no cost and area to display banners flags etc. If you really want to step up to the plate there is still space on the rash vest for shirt sponsors but we would be looking for “considerable contribution” for this.  The shirt design is near complete so I would need to know sooner rather than later.

This is a slightly different event and I feel it will be something that in the future will grow to become another board sport festival but with deep rooted history!

If you wish to call me perhaps we can discuss your thoughts with our vision.

Thanks for your time.
Regards
Colin Ralph
